The BLITZ AWARDS 2013 is only six weeks away and the award categories have now been revealed.
Going back to traditional fashion the Best Running Back will be kicking off the show. You normally find this happens every year at the BLITZ AWARDS and even last year, when it was replaced with Best Rookie to open the show, it was in fact a Running Back that won it. Best Running Back is split into two different age categories, one for Youth and one for Junior. This is true of a lot of awards this year including: Best Wide Receiver, Best Defensive Skilled Player (which includes Linebackers and Defensive Backs) Best Lineman (including Offensive and Defensive Linemen), Most Versatile Player, Rookie of the Season and Most Improved Player. Quarterback will be one for all age groups along with the Blitz Achievement Award.
New this year will be an add on to the Most Improved Player. Traditionally the Most Improved Player is for players that have come back from previous seasons and stepped up to make an impact to their team. This will remain the same however the add on will be several awards for players that have improved within the 2013 season.
Several awards will be given out for dedication and commitment and there will be the Players Choice Awards where players have voted for who they think deserves to be recognised for their efforts.
The BLITZ AWARDS 2013 is on Sunday, 10 November at the Ironworks. Tickets are available from the Wildcats and the Ironworks Box Office or via TicketMaster Via www.ironworksvenue.com
