Edinburgh Wolves

After an opening day defeat at the hand of the Lanarkshire Longhorns in Wishaw the Junior Wildcats will be aiming to defeat an on form Wolves team on Sunday. The Edinburgh Wolves and Highland Wildcats have never played each other at Junior level but they have been playing each other at Youth level since the 2009 season.

The Inverness based team have won 12 of the 14 games between Highland and Edinburgh at Youth level (One of the matches was tied and the other was a defeat (both matches happened in 2013) and will be feeling pretty confident to continue this for at junior level.

Both sides also met each other during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 BAFA Division 2 (North) at senior level. However the Edinburgh senior team won on all occasions bar one.

The Edinburgh Wolves Junior Team have started the 2014 regular season with two wins in their opening matches and will be feeling confident ahead of Sunday’s game. They opened the season with a 42-18 victory at Meadowbank stadium against the Pirates before travelling to Fishcross Park where the Wolves shut out the Clackmannanshire Ravens 54-0.

The Wildcat’s will have to regroupnot be put down by last weeks result. They had plenty of positives to take from the game and the Junior Wildcats should be able to earn a victory in the Highlands.
