As part of the Positive Life Pathways project, the Highland Wildcats, in association with Merkinch Partnership, offer Employability Sessions to young people aged between 14-18.
The one to one sessions are available on Thursdays between 4pm and 5pm. The aim of the appointments are to allow young people to chat about possible career aspirations and use their involvement in American football to improve and tailor their CV towards these goals. This includes looking at the time the young person has put into the sport through volunteering; the life skills that they have gained from being involved in a team; and the courses and qualifications that they have gained from being involved with the team. Additions to the young people’s CVs have included First Aid qualifications, National Governing Body certificates, workshops and Saltire Awards.
As well as setting goals and developing CVs – in some cases – we can refer the Young People to Merkinch Partnership to establish possible work placements.
Appointments can be made through Youth Development Officer, Robbie Paulin by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The Positive Life Pathways project is supported by The Robertson Trust, The Gannochy Trust, the Garfield Weston Foundation, Merkinch Partnership and the Common Good Fund.
